Leaving
San Miguel de Tucumán northbound through Siria Ave., we connect
with national road 9 (highway).
Twelve miles
(20 km) ahead, after driving by an area covered with citric plantations, we turn
off to the right (National Road 347) heading for the Celestino Gelsi Dam,
in the area of Cadillal, Burruyacu department.. Camping, fishing,
water sports, trekking, archaeological museum, area of wilderness and mountains.
Taking again road 9, a few miles ahead, we can
turn off towards provincial road 341 so as to get to the vacation resort of Raco
and Siambón, where we found the monastery of the Benedictine monks.
Back in San Miguel de Tucumán,
we take provincial road 340 to get to San Javier, an area of large prairies
where the imposing image of the Redeemer Christ is found. Following the
same route, bordering the mountain, you arrive at the Villa Nougués,
a place with important vacation residences and of a singular natural beauty. Then
we begin to go down towards San Miguel de Tucumán.
The
other alternative, leaving the Celestino Gelsi Dam, is to keep on northwards
along road 9, until you find provincial road 311, thus being able to visit the
vacation resort of San Pedro de Colalao and the Quebrada
de Hualinchay (Photography of 48k). By the same road, we return to San
Miguel de Tucumán.
