RACO
In this case
it is a quiet place, of a remarkable natural beauty, which rises 3,609 ft. (1,100
m) above sea level, only 34 miles (55 km) way from San Miguel de Tucumán.
Its climate is mild and the permanently cool sierra breeze attracts
many visitors all year round.
The
Raco Stream and, at a short distance, the Siambón River, are good choices
for fishing trout. On the undulating terrain, which is covered with flowers in
summer, are cottages and estancias (cattle ranch) enclosed by pircas (stone walls)
where delicious cheeses are made.
