AMAICHA DEL VALLE
This area is 37 miles (60 km) north west of San Miguel de Tucumán. The landscape of this western zone of the province presents distinctive features: high area vegetation, wilderness-covered hills and a dry and cool weather, inviting to the quiet life and calm.
The area is famous for its fine home-made regional wines, alfajores (pastries with a sweet filling), nougat and cheese.
On February in Amaicha del Valle the traditional festivity of the Pachamama (Mother Earth) is celebrated. Inhabitants of the neighboring towns take part in it and it also attracts visitors from all over the province.
