RUINS OF CIUDACITA

At a height of about 13,800 or 14,100 ft. (4,200 m or 4,300 m) above sea level, in the eastern side of the Nevados del Aconquija chain, there is a site of Indian ruins.

These are also located in the extreme of a turnoff, known as Camino del Inca (Inca path), which branches off the main road. The ruins must have been a part of a military post where there was also a food storehouse and which served a military purpose, apart from the religious one.

The crossing of the ruins of Ciudacita takes seven days if on horseback.
