It is an unusual square, orange trees giving it an Andalusian air and old local trees providing a tropical touch.

In the center of the promenade rises the Statue of Liberty, a work by Tucumán-born sculptor Lola Mora. At its feet, schoolboys, collectivities and public men leave their wreaths on National holidays.

It is surrounded by outstanding buildings such as: the Cathedral, the Government House, the Provincial Bank, Popular Savings Bank, Saint Francis Church, Alberdi's Home, Tourist Department and others.
