The province of Tucumán is between 26º and 28º parallels
of south latitude and 64º 30¹ and 66º 30¹ meridians.
In
a straight line, it is 335 miles (540 km) away from the Pacific coast, 652 miles
(1,050 km) away from the mouth of the Plata River and 870 miles (1,400 km) away
from the Atlantic Ocean.
